| In Japanese KINOTORIKO 木野鳥乎 きのとりこ 東京生まれ。大学では英米文学を、通信教育にてグラフィック・デザインを学ぶ。 フリーのイラストレーターとして、広告・PR誌・書籍・雑誌・グッズ(時計・T-shirt・ランプetc...)等に絵を描くほか、壁面装飾や生地のプリントデザイン、パッケージデザインの仕事も行う。 1990年の個展「ノンセンス・イノセンス・サイエンス」以降、とくに科学への興味が増し、"科学"と"物語"の接点を模索、その後の個展やインターネットの企業サイト等にて同テーマで作品を発表しつづける。2000年には『わたしたちは どこから来て どこへ行くのか？』(進化生物学の研究者：佐倉統氏との共著、ブロンズ新社)が、2002年には『地球がもし100cmの球だったら』(科学未来館：永井智哉氏との共著、世界文化社)が発刊された。2003年4月に開館した鹿児島県"生命と環境の学習館”の展示の一部にて、上記佐倉氏の監修のもと、企画構成〜グラフィックを担当。 いっぽう2001年頃から、従来のカタチにとらわれない自由な絵本づくりの構想を具体化しはじめる。幼少期をオーストラリアで過ごした経験と、その後のノンセンス文学への興味から、日本語/英語対訳の詩作＋イラストというスタイルで、いくつかの作品をインターネット他で発表の後、オブジェとして触ることのできるビジュアル本もつづけて制作。これらの作品はKINOTORIKO名で発表している。 オリジナル企画本の第一弾は全ページ型抜き(紙に穴が開いている)『なないろえほん』。これは2003年のボローニャ国際絵本原画展に入選した。つづいて、イタリア語の言葉と文字をテーマにした絵巻『Il Panorama Parlato ことばのけしき』、英語のことば遊びの蛇腹本『ABC out of WWW』を制作。『Il Panorama Parlato』は前年につづいて2004年のボローニャ国際絵本原画展に入選。 2006年には、アンデルセンの生誕200周年を記念して『青の情熱 The Passion Blue』、そして物語を追いながら迷路あそびも楽しめる『ここにいるよ！めいろないきものたち Here Iam ! The A-mazing Little Creatures』を発表する。 上記のいくつかの本は"子どものためのアーティスト・ブック"の収集をしているイタリアの図書館 OPLAや金沢21世紀美術館、そのほか国内外いくつかの図書館・美術館のコレクションに加えられた。(詳細は「絵本の企画」に) 2009年の1月に『わたしの優しい死神』が、8月にはそのフランス語版『Tendre est La Mort』が発刊され、フランス語版はベルギーにて2009 LIBBYLIT賞(仏語による最優秀絵本賞)を受賞する。 現在は、イラストレーションの仕事と、ビジュアルブック企画制作を2本柱として活動中。 普段のイラストレーションの仕事に関しては玄光社刊「イラストレーション・ファイル アナログ」もご覧ください。現在、少しずつ「仕事いろいろ」のコンテンツを増やしつつあります。 2008.04.23 email: treepie@kinotori.com |
| In English KINOTORIKO, Toriko Kino Born in Tokyo. Majored in English and American literature in the university, studied graphic design in correspondence corse.The works includes illustrations for advertisings, editorials, products(clock,T-shirt, lamp, etc... ), and sometimes for wall paintings, print-design for fabrics, and package designs. Since the solo exhibition in 1990 titled "Nonsense Innocense Science", the interest for the science increased, then, started to pursue the interface between "science" and "literature". The same theme was realized at the following solo-exhibitions, or, as the contents of the websites, etc. In 2000, the book titled "From Where We Came, and To Where We Go" (texts by O. Sakura, PhD.) ; In 2002, "If the Earth is a Glove of 100cm......" (texts by T. Nagai, PhD.) were published. Took charge of the plannings & graphics (in accordance with Prof.Sakura), at one of the displays in the scientific museum in Kagoshima prefecture, opened in April, 2003. Another theme is to expand the possibilities of "the picture/visual books". The experience of having spent infant days in Australia, and the interest for nonsense literature afterwards, lead to the works in the style of "bilingual poetry with illustrations", which was shown in the website etc. , followed also by some "tangible-visual" books. The first book on this project "What a Colorful Life! " was published as the original limited edition. This book was selected for the exhibition in Bologna Children's Bookfair, 2003. Succeedingly, two word-playing books were made, also as limited edition : One is the roll-book titled "Il Panorama Parlato (The Landscape of Language)", the allitarative poetry in Italian composed by illustrations and fonts. The other is accordion-folded book "ABC out of WWW", also the allitarative poetry in English with illustrations. "Il Panorama Parlato" was selected again for the exhibition in Bologna Children's Bookfair, 2004. In 2006, "The Passion Blue"was dedicated to celebrate the 200th anniversary of H.C.Andersen, and "Here I am ! The A-mazing Little Creatures" was published, the book you can read and play the maze. Some of these books are in the collection of OPLA , the library of artist's books for children in Italy, and in the library of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, among other libraries and museums in France and Japan. In 2009 "My Sweet Death Wish" was published in Japan (january) and in France (august), and the french version "Tendre est La Mort" was awarded the 2009 LIBBYLIT Prize , as the best picture-book in French language in Belgium.
